To make searching easier, all of the more than 725 war victims associated with the municipality of Deurne have been categorised. Below you will find a brief description of the categories, and you can choose to view the corresponding memorial pages.
The categories reflect the diversity of victims documented by the War Victims Foundation: from Allied and German soldiers killed in action to Dutch civilians who died in Deurne, from residents of Deurne who were murdered in concentration camps or died as a result of forced labour, to people who were shot or otherwise executed. Residents of Deurne who joined the German military or civil service and were killed elsewhere are also included, as are individuals who do not fall into any of these categories but are listed on a monument in Deurne.
This classification makes it possible to search specifically for a particular group of victims. The War Victims Foundation has been documenting the stories of all these people since 1995, regardless of nationality, allegiance or background.
