Sergeant Walter John Staiger.
Sergeant Staiger was one of the military police officers involved in the arrest of the Schulz team. Staff Sergeant Hansen should also be briefly mentioned here. Hansen was called as a witness in the trial against Lieutenant Schulz. Hansen and Staiger were friends after the war. As Staiger’s son reported, his father was the only one from the unit with whom Hansen maintained contact.
